The Fastest Cars Ever Made
Watching Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson and crew
test driving the Bugatti Veyron made me wonder, would the owners
buy extended warranty
cover on one of these little babies, even if they could do so?
The three fastest cars in the world are the Bugatti Veyron, the Ultima GTR and the Ultimate Aero by Shelby SuperCars. My favourite car is the SSC Ultimate Aero. I like its style and its looks and that is probably all I'll ever be able to do, just look.
Until recently, the Ultima GTR was reported as being the fastest production car in the world. It is certainly the fastest accelerating and decelerating supercar of all time and multiple world speed record holder. In 2007, the Top Gear team took it round their test track. Independently timed, the GTR was an amazing 6.2 seconds per lap faster than the Ferrari Enzo. Not bad for a kit car.
Top Gear's James May test drove the Veyron and a recorded top speed of 253 mph (407.6 kph) breaking all previous records. The Veyron is the fastest car in the world, but have they ironed out all the kinks?
Do supercars break down?
Fast and impressive they may be but supercars still break down, and if they're anything like my cars, it will be two days after the standard warranty expires. That's why it makes sense (for us lot in the real world, that is) to buy extended warranties.
At £1,125,000, for a 2010 model, I doubt if Veyron owners really do buy extended warranties to safe guard their investment. Even on a second hand model, I think I'd still cough up for a used car warranty if I could though. I mean, it's logical to want to safeguard against problems, even on a supercar!
Bugatti actually does provide an extended warranty for the Veyron which covers every eventuality. It is optional, of course, but who in their right mind wouldn't buy an extended warranty on any car.
The Veyron extended car warranty guarantees the mechanical and electrical components, the body and paintwork and even guarantees against rust throughout the entire vehicle.
Now that is the extended warranty
cover that I want on my car. Being a mere mortal, however, and settling
for my nice little Honda civic (my version of a super car at any
rate!) I'm happy with the car warranty cover provided by Click4Warranty.
