Policy Wording

What is car warranty cover?

A car warranty is an insurance policy that helps you to cover the cost of repair when your car suffers an unforeseen mechanical breakdown or electrical failure. Offering cover for up to 3 years, this means you won’t be left without help.

And, it won’t just help you with the cost of replacement or repair for parts, you’ll also have cover for labour, towing, and car hire or accommodation. That’s cover that could save you from financial hardship.

Why is a car warranty a smart investment?

When you buy a new car it comes with a manufacturer warranty of around 3 years, and once this has come to an end, or when you purchase an older vehicle, you no longer have this cover. This means that the cost of an unforeseen breakdown is your responsibility alone.

If you have a car warranty however, you’ll have financial protection against covered breakdowns, so you won’t be left footing then repair bill alone. And, it wont just help with the cost of parts, you’ll have cover for labour, VAT, towing and transport or accommodation if you’re travelling far from home.

What will a car warranty cover?

Besides covering a comprehensive list of major components, you’ll be able to rely on:

  • Technical expertise to manage repairers and look after your interests.
  • Professional claims management to guide you through the process.
  • Cover for claims to a maximum claims benefit level up to £7,000 per claim.
  • No limit to the number of claims you can make.
  • Cover for imminent failures spotted by qualified technicians during routine serving or MOT.
  • Repairers paid directly in most cases, so you’re not left out of pocket.
  • A network of approved repairers to make sure you get the help you need.
  • Choose from a once off payment or monthly instalments to suit your pocket.
Will I get the same cover as with a manufacturer warranty?

Even though a manufacturer warranty provides cover for failures and defective parts, there are many other parts that it won’t cover, as well as wear and tear.

The Click4Warranty 3-Star Warranty product option covers a wide range of parts, while the 4-Star and 5-Star options offer increasingly more comprehensive cover.

How does your monthly payment plan work?

Click4Warranty’s monthly payment plan allows you to make your cover more affordable by spreading the cost over 10 months. Here’s how it works: when you take out your policy you’ll pay 20% deposit, and then the balance of premium is spread out over the next 9 months. Each monthly payment will be put on to the credit/debit card you used to pay your deposit.

Is this a credit agreement?

This is not a credit agreement and we will not search the information a credit reference agency holds about you, and your payment will not be subject to any interest rate changes.

How will I know how much I will pay each month?

The monthly payment amount, transaction fee and number of monthly payments you will have to pay are shown at the time of purchase, in your Policy Schedule under Payment Options.

On which date each month will you deduct payment?

Each monthly payment will be deducted from your assigned card on the 1st day of the month starting from the 1st day of the month following the date the policy was purchased. You do not need to schedule payment, plan payments or make a manual payment on the payment date.

What happens if I don’t have funds to make a payment?

Your cover is conditional on you making all of the monthly payments when they are due. If a payment is not received, your policy will cease to cover you in the event of a claim occurring after the unpaid monthly payment was due. This could ultimately result in your cover being cancelled.

We will then take action to recover the outstanding amount, which could result in additional charges each time a request is returned unpaid, or legal action along with its associated costs.

What if I decide not to continue with my monthly payments?

You have the right to withdraw from monthly payments by paying any balance owing in full. If you would like to do this, please contact Customer Service who can arrange payment by debit or credit card over the phone.

The Click4Warranty 5-Star Warranty product option covers a comprehensive range of parts, while the 3-Star and 4-Star products offer more affordable options.

Is a car warranty really worth it?

These days very few of us can afford a new car, and many of us drive vehicles older than 3 years and keep them for longer than we have in the past. This means that in the vast majority of cases, the manufacturer’s warranty is no longer in place.

Click4Warranty car warranties are design for exactly this situation, giving you vital protection and peace of mind so you don’t have to face big repair bills alone. Just take a look at some recent repair bills we’ve received from policyholders and ask yourself if this cover will give you comfort.

What if my service history is not up to date?

There’s no need to worry if your car service history is not up to date, or incomplete or missing. We like to make things easy for our policyholders, so you can go ahead and  purchase your Click4Warranty policy and your cover will be active as long as you service it according to the manufacturer specifications, by a VAT registered garage within 21 days or 500 miles, whichever is sooner.
